ISO9001:2008
HIS believes strongly in the value of the ISO9001 standard and uses it as a foundation for its quality systems. Fully understanding Customer requirements before undertaken commitment to fulfil is of fundamental importance to our Quality System. We therefore utilise a rigours review process conducted by our experienced Engineering team to ensure projects are within our capabilities.
Our Production processes are controlled by Quality Control plans derived from FMEAs to ensure compliance. All our products are inspected and tested prior to shipment for extra assurance. No Quality System can be fully exploited without commitment from the Senior Management. To that end, HIS has a Quality Policy, demanding high Quality, signed by Shareholders of the Company.
Assembly Standards
HIS is familiar with providing products into applications where reliability is paramount. Therefore the workmanship Quality of Backplane assemblies has to be of the highest order. We have chosen the IPC610 standard and work to the highest class III level for all assembly work, regardless of end user application. To support this, we have staff members who are IPC Certified trainers in both the IPC610 and the supporting ‘J’ standards.

No organisation can afford to stay still in the competitive market place. HIS processes and have to be continually developed to ensure highest levels of Customer Service and efficiency. HIS uses an EFQM derived self-assessment model to identify strengths and areas for improvement. This is supported additionally by our Balanced Scorecard method for measuring business performance and fulfilment of our Quality objectives and Customer focussed strategic plan.
Investors in People
Critical to many organisations are its people, none more so with HIS. It is essential that all our staff are developed to maintain a focus on Customer Quality and company strategy. We use the investors in people award, which we have held for more than seven years, to drive our staff development in a professional manner.
